# Printables

Printables lets your child print pages on your home printer by themselves. They press up and down to hear the name of each page, and the action button to print it. There is nothing to set up, and it works with Peko AI turned off.

The list holds the printables a parent added, like a Halloween countdown calendar or a maze, and the pictures, lists and books your child made with Peko. The newest are at the top.

Printables appears on the Pal by itself: when a parent adds the first printable, or once your child has made something with Peko. It also has its own place in the main menu, so your child can press left or right to Printables, choose a page with up and down, and press the action button to print it straight away.

## The buttons

| Power button | A quick press leaves Printables and returns to the main menu, as described in [Getting around your Peko Pal](https://www.pekopal.com/guide/navigation). Pages already on their way keep printing. |

## What you'll hear and see

While a page is printing, the status light breathes slowly in cyan. If something goes wrong, it pulses red for a moment and the Pal says what happened. See [the status light](https://www.pekopal.com/guide/status-light). Printables remembers the last page your child was on.

The Pal checks with the printer before it sends a page and keeps listening for about 20 seconds after the printer takes it. Some printers only notice they are out of paper when they try to pull in a sheet, so the Pal may say "Printing now" and then, a few seconds later, that the printer is out of paper.

## What the Pal says

| "Found it! Printing now." | The printer took the page. |
| "All the pages are on their way." | The last sheet of a page with several sheets was sent. |
| "The printer is out of paper. Ask a grown-up to put some paper in." | The printer says it has no paper. Once you add paper, a page the printer already took prints by itself, so there is no need to press print again. |
| "The printer can't print right now. It may need paper or ink." | The printer said no without saying why, or it has a paper jam, is out of ink, or has a door open. Check the printer's own screen or lights. |
| "The printer is busy. Try again in a minute." | The printer is still working on something else. |
| "I'm still printing the last one." | Your child pressed print again before the last page was finished. Nothing new is sent. |
| "I can't find a printer. Check that it's on and on the same Wi-Fi." | No printer answered on your Wi-Fi. |
| "I can't reach the printer. Is it turned on?" | The Pal found the printer but it stopped answering. |
| "I need Wi-Fi to print." | The Pal isn't connected to Wi-Fi. |
| "This printer can't print that one." | Your printer can't print this kind of page. |
| "That one isn't on your Pal anymore." | The page was removed. |
| "It may have printed. Check the printer before trying again." | The page was sent, but the printer didn't confirm it. |
| "Nothing to print yet. Ask a grown-up to add some printables." | There are no printables on the Pal yet. |
| "Something went wrong. Try again in a moment." | Anything else went wrong. |

## Settings in the Peko Pal app

Open the Pal's Printables settings to see the printables on this Pal. Swipe left to remove a set or a page. **Add Printables** takes you to the Peko Printables section of the Store, where you can add a whole set or a single page. Printables in a Peko Pack are added with the pack.

What your child makes with Peko is listed under **Made by** on the Pal's page, where you can also print or share it from your phone.

## Which printer it uses

The Pal finds printers on your Wi-Fi by itself. With one printer, it uses that one. With more than one, it uses the printer it last printed to; your child can pick another by asking Peko to print on it by name, and the Pal remembers that one from then on. ## Good to know

- Printables needs Wi-Fi and a printer on the same Wi-Fi network. See [Wi-Fi](https://www.pekopal.com/guide/wifi).
- Printables does not use the microphone, and the AI is not involved while it prints.
- Pages print on your printer's usual paper, normally US letter.
